Mark 15:33-34

At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" (which means"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")

Feast of the Assumption

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his humble servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed,
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

Matthew 14:29

Peter got out of the boat and began to walk toward Jesus.

This is from the story, in Matthew, of Jesus walking on the water but it appears in all four Gospels. Bishop Robert Barron tells us that the water is a symbol of danger throughout the Scriptures and God has lordship over all the powers of disorder. The boat holding Peter and the other disciples is the Church. This story of Jesus walking on the water shows the divinity of Jesus. Peter beginning to walk on the water towards Jesus is the story of the saints.
