John 1:36-39

"Behold, the Lamb of God." The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come and you will see."
John 1:36-39

Paraphrased from Bishop Robert Barron:
John the Baptist tells his disciples "Behold the Lamb of God." We might miss the meaning of those words today but to first century Jews this was bold sacrificial language.  As they approach Jesus, he asks them "What are you looking for?" Imagine the Son of God asking you that question. They answer with a question of their own, "Rabbi where are you staying?" Although this seems like an inconsequential question, Bishop Barron says they answer brilliantly. They recognize that what they were searching for was to be found in Him.
